8:15 am Worship (Sanctuary)

9:30 am Worship (Fellowship Hall)

11:00 am Worship (Sanctuary)

Joining with our choir at 8:15 and 11:00 AM will be a magnificent string ensemble presenting several Mystical Songs by Vaughn Williams and Beethoven's Hallelujah from Mount Olives. New Song Service returns to the fellowship hall at 9:30 AM with awesome music from our New Song Band.  Nursery care will be available if your family should need it.  A reception will be held in the courtyard all morning with our beautiful flowered cross.

During Holy Week our church is busy with members, family members, and friends from the community preparing to celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord.  The week starts on Palm Sunday with the commemoration of Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem. It continues on Maundy Thursday with a retelling of the story of the Last Supper, and Jesus’ betrayal by a disciple. On Good Friday the church gathers to remember Jesus’ death on the cross. And on Easter we proclaim the Resurrection, and celebrate the assurance that not even death could separate us from God’s grace.

Sunday, April 14

All Worship Services

Holy Week begins with Jesus triumphal entry into Jerusalem riding on a donkey. The crowds welcome Jesus as they would welcome a king, with palm branches and shouts of Hosanna. A churchwide palm parade begins at 10:45 am! Bring a palm frond from your yard and gather on the labyrinth to participate.

Our Palm Sunday Festival begins at 10:00 am. All children, youth, and their families (and anyone else who wants to experience the excitement) are invited to join in the festivities! There will be an egg hunt, pony rides, bounce houses and brunch on the front lawn.  Please bring a breakfast dish to share!

Thursday, April 18

5:30 pm - Fellowship Hall

Join us for good food, spiritual conversation and a chance to build relationships with your neighbors. Among the oldest forms of Christian worship is this: gather the people, break the bread, and tell the stories. Arrive between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm. Dinner and worship will begin at 6:00 pm, and we should be done by around 7:15 pm. This is intergenerational – all ages are welcome at the table. Please call the church office (941.955.8119) to RSVP for a delicious Mediterranean-style meal.

Friday, April 19

12 noon - Sanctuary

Good Friday helps us to recall the crucifixion and death of Christ through the narration of the events of the day. Good Friday comes from the middle English from “God’s Friday.”  Contemplative service will be held in the sanctuary at 12 noon.
